  • Businesses may not condition incentives on leaving a positive review.
  • Consumers may not be required to submit a pre-approved or curated review.

2.2 No Editing of Consumer Opinions

We do not:

  • Modify consumer sentiment
  • Rewrite reviews
  • Remove negative reviews solely because they are negative
  • Allow businesses to suppress genuine feedback

Minimal formatting may occur (e.g., spacing, spelling), but the meaning is never altered.

2.3 Prohibited Conduct

ShareYourThoughts prohibits:

  • Fake reviews
  • Reviews written by employees without disclosure
  • Purchased or fabricated testimonials
  • Review gating (only routing happy customers to review pages)
  • Review suppression or removal by bribery or threat

If detected, the account may be suspended or terminated.

3. Disclosures for Incentives, Rewards, and Offers

3.1 Reward-Based Activity

If a user receives:

  • Points
  • Credits
  • Discounts
  • Gifts
  • Cashback
  • Rewards
  • Entry into a sweepstakes or drawing

3.2 Placement of Disclosures

Disclosures appear:

  • On review request pages
  • In the dashboard
  • In the flow where UGC or surveys are submitted
  • In SMS/email messaging that includes incentives
  • On the Offers page
  • Near affiliate-linked promotions

Disclosures are not hidden, buried in footnotes, or obscured.

4. User-Generated Content (UGC) Requirements

UGC submitted through the platform (reviews, photos, videos, testimonials) must:

  • Reflect the user’s honest and real experience
  • Not include false claims about medical outcomes, procedures, or results
  • Not mislead or impersonate other individuals
  • Not be paid for or compensated without a disclosure
  • Not violate copyright or trademark laws
  • Not be posted by employees without identification (e.g., “I work for this business.”)

We may remove any non-compliant content at our discretion.

5. Affiliate Marketing Compliance

ShareYourThoughts displays affiliate-linked offers from third-party merchants.

To comply with FTC guidelines:

  • Not misrepresent rewards or incentives
  • Use the system within all federal and state legal boundaries

Violations may result in suspension or termination.

8. Enforcement and Monitoring

We reserve the right to:

  • Audit review patterns
  • Flag suspicious activity
  • Temporarily disable features
  • Remove non-compliant content
  • Suspend users or businesses violating FTC rules

We may update automated detection systems to identify manipulative behavior.

  • Industry best practices
  • Platform updates
